Fort Worth Housing Solutions Passes Halfway Point With 62% of 5,000-Unit Goal
Fort Worth Housing Solutions, the city's public housing authority, says it is more than 62% of the way through its five-year housing goal, now at the midpoint of its five-year plan.
A spokesperson told the Fort Worth Report that 3,120 units have been completed since the plan took effect in 2024. The target is 5,000 units by 2028. Lanesha Combs, vice president of housing operations, presented the figures at the agency's Sept. 17 board of commissioners meeting as part of its 2027 Public Housing Agency Plan. She reported 1,154 affordable units completed this year or under construction.
The completed list includes projects across several Fort Worth ZIP codes, such as Ramble & Rose, Skyline Prairie Homes and Jefferson Elara. Other highlights from the presentation include 157 households enrolled in the Family Self-Sufficiency program, with 27 graduating to homeownership. Two new workforce programs were also introduced, with CVS providing pharmacy technician training and MetroHealth offering medical assistant training. The agency distributed 6,430 vouchers last year.
For developers and lenders, the figures signal continued pipeline activity in Fort Worth's affordable segment, with a steady flow of mixed-income and subsidized projects still under way.
