Glendale has officially welcomed Pioneer Village, a significant affordable housing development located at 515 Pioneer Drive, just south of the 134 Freeway. This project, a collaboration between Linc Housing Corp. and National CORE, is now the largest affordable housing complex in the city's history.

The development features 340 apartments, including studio, one-, and two-bedroom units. These homes are designated for seniors and families whose incomes range between 30 and 80 percent of the area median income. Designed by KFA Architecture, Pioneer Village comprises interconnected five-story buildings that incorporate various amenities such as courtyards, community gardens, rooftop decks, and children's play areas.

Completed in July, the project garnered substantial interest, receiving more than 7,500 unique applications. According to Linc Housing president Suny Lay Chang, the initiative aims to create an intergenerational community where residents can establish deeper roots and secure more stable futures in Glendale. This new supply of affordable housing directly addresses critical demand within the region.
