Fisk Electric, a subsidiary of Tutor Perini, has been awarded a $24 million contract to deliver electrical services for a confidential data center project in Houston. The scope of work for Fisk Electric involves the prefabrication and assembly of modular containment systems, including liquid-cooled components and piping. These components will be constructed at Fisk's new 75,000-square-foot manufacturing facility, also located in Houston.

This contract reflects Tutor Perini's increasing focus on the data center construction sector, a shift emphasized in recent earnings calls. The demand for prefabrication in this market is growing, partly due to a national shortage of electricians, particularly in data center construction. Utilizing offsite manufacturing helps maintain project schedules, a key benefit noted by Tutor Perini. Other civil infrastructure contractors, like Granite Construction, are also expanding their involvement in data center projects, typically handling site preparation and access infrastructure. Fisk's electrical work on the Houston data center is slated to commence this year, with substantial completion anticipated by the first quarter of 2027. This project underscores the growing trend of specialized contractors leveraging modular construction to meet the rapid expansion demands of the data center industry.
