Rilea Group Commences Construction on Mohawk at Wynwood Mixed-Use Project in Miami
Rilea Group has initiated construction on Mohawk at Wynwood, a mixed-use development located at 50 Northeast 29th Street in Miami. The project, designed by Deforma Studio with interiors by RADYCA, will consist of 12- and eight-story residential towers offering 300 rental apartments. Additionally, it will include 29,118 square feet of ground-floor retail, organized around an open-air, cobblestone pedestrian paseo connecting Northeast 28th and 29th Streets. Coastal Construction is serving as the general contractor.
The groundbreaking ceremony occurred on September 23, 2026, with the developer announcing the milestone on September 24. Situated between the Wynwood Arts District and Midtown Miami, Mohawk is near Amazon’s new Miami offices and within a corridor experiencing over $11 billion in real estate development. The retail component, featuring high ceilings and grease-trap-ready infrastructure, is being offered for sale, with approximately one-third already under contract at a reported $1,800 per square foot. This development introduces a distinctive architectural and interior design approach to the Miami rental market, emphasizing unique materials and wide sidewalks to enhance the pedestrian and retail experience.
